Could you please tell me the current rules for the bit required for dressage in a preliminary class, i.e. is a thin sweet iron snaffle exceptable or is it still that the bit has to be all of the same metal? ?

The current Rules read: ""Snaffle & Nosebands
• A snaffle bridle of which the bit is made of metal, leather, rubber or plastic material is permitted at all levels. • It must have either a cavesson noseband OR dropped noseband OR crossed noseband OR flash noseband. • Nosebands must be made entirely of leather, except for a small disc of sheepskin, which may be used in the intersection of the two leather straps of a crossed noseband.
Other • If metal bits are used, all parts of the bit coming into the horse’s mouth must be of metal.""
Hope this is of some help. If you have a specific problem, please email me on vroche@acenet.com.au,
Vince
