Seems I might be on the look out for agistment. A range of factors are conspiring against me to make me move.....and it's a scary agistment world out there so I 'm approaching tentatively. Please no riding schools, I find it really tough when lessons dominate the arena and you can never get in. Private agistment is much better.
Needs:
- individual grassy paddock with actual fencing. Like, real fencing. Not just electric tape that isn't on and then wonder why the horses are wandering alllll over the shop (sorry, still getting over nightmare from 3 years ago). Plain wire with electric is fine.
-arena- full sized, good footage and good drainage and preferably with floodlights (although I will forego the lights if everything else is right)
- tack shed.
- really nice, horsey people who understand horses and horse safety;
- flexibility with feed- my horse is incredibly sensitive and reacts (little allergic lumps on him) to the wrong feed, and I like him to have lots of hay to nibble on all day.
- float parking
What you get:
- a super reliable, dedicated and friendly always paying up horse owner;
- a very very sweet 16.3hh gelding who is a pleasure to handle, gets on with everyone and has yet to be spotted to put his ears back at anyone or anything.
Happy to help out and go on a feeding roster (I ride mornings before work at 6am so can feed others), happy to buy own feed and just pay agistment only, fine to clean paddocks on weekend etc.. but I still need people to feed nights and on the (unfortunately very rare) occasions I go away so I cannot just go it alone on land. Or can go full board option so long as there is a little flexibility and attention to detail.
Would rather spend less not more, but well---- options? (now that I've scared everyone off... )
