Does anyone know whether the old rule concerning bits (for the dressage phase) being of one metal only ie, not stainless steel with a brass roller, still exists? I went looking up EA and FEI rules and no mention of bits that are both SS and brass. Who would be the best person to have a chinwag to about this, as I might be distributing some nice new bits and want to ensure they are all legal! Cheers, Marcia

Marcia, The rules no longer refer to 2 metals not being allowed.
But you should talk to the FEI Steward General for Eventing...Christine Wallis.
Chris will help you sort it out. gcwallis@activ8.net.au

Just wondering whether you got anywhere with this as I have seen a few trotting around in the sweet iron with the copper inlay, my horse goes great in these but definitely don't want to risk elimination for illegal gear.

The bit can be made of 2 metals. The old rule about being the same metal deosn't apply any more.
But the type of bit must still be a legal bit.
