Hi this is my first time in here although i have competed for years but my hubby now thinks he will have a go at low level eventing(on my horse no less he has been riding her since i fractured my pelvis) i was just curious what the guys are expected to wear he will not be happy if he has to wear joddies but can they wear moleskins? and just a riding shirt and coat? any input would be great THANKS Simone

Hi Simone,
I convinced my husband to wear breeches (instead of his much loved Moleskins) - I think light coloured Jodphers and Breechers are really the only acceptable dress code for ODE dressage, jumping and cross country phases (I think you can wear any coloured light clothing and jods in the cross country). You could check the rule book on the EFA National website for more details.
I dress shirt with tie are also required for the jumping and dressage phases - but most boys have one sitting in their cupboards at home. And a jacket is compulsory (depending on the weather - the hot weather rule is used at discretion by the organisers so we don't all die in the heatwaves wearing silly English wool jackets!).
