i'm competing next weekend and it's my first really BIG competition. i don't know whether juniors are allowed to wear top boots or if they can wear chaps for xc and jumping.

you can't wear the chaps (like the mock suede ones) but you can wear gaiters and jodhpur boots as long as they are same colour and the outside bit of the gaiters is full grain leather!

The answer to this question (and many other questions) may be found in the national Rulebook at the EFA National Website www.efanational.comRule 31 (dress for Dressage), Rule 40 (dress for Xc) and Rule 59 (dress for Jumping) all read the same: "In all Tests, boots (other than as part of regulation service dress) must be black, brown or black with a brown top. They must either be long boots in one piece or if gaiters are worn, matching black or brown leather boots must be worn with at least the exposed side of the gaiter to be of full grained leather. Chapettes (suede) are not permitted. Juniors may compete in jodhpurs and short boots." Vince
