Hi, I am wondering whether it is an actual rule to stop and present to the judge prior to a dressage test, I am sick and tired of trotting endlessly around the judges car with them clearly seeing my number and still having to stop and talk while my horse turns off its concentration.

Some competitions require it, others don't.
My horse doesn't lose his concentration as he is relaxed and ready... But a very young horse might. If you only halt when you absolutely need to, you should be fine.

My horse is OK but I just find it annoying that the professionals get away with doing this but us amateurs get treated differently, its not like they cant tell who I am by my huge numbers on my saddle cloth.
