Seen in NCHTA newsletter: In accordance with current national regulations, all club members who are under the official age limit (11 years) will need to provide evidence that verifies their riding skills to allow them to participate in our unofficial activities. The Beckford Chicken Day is also implementing this policy. The new EFA and FEI rules are available via the internet www.efanational.com/rules/eventingrulebook.pdf) and as a hard copy from the EFA and are essential reading for all competitors. I have scoured the rule books on the website and can't find out about this - can anyone help? What sort of evidence is required?

Dear Linda,
The rules that you are inquiring about are rules for Unofficial events in NSW. A copy will be available on this website early March.
They have been adopted by Eventing NSW. In relation to the age requirements, they will allow riders under 11 to compete in classes of up to 45cms & 60cms if they met a minimum standard. (as below).
"Riders who are younger than the year of their 11th birthday will be required to meet a minimum standard before competing. This standard will be either to have been graded at Pony Club C, D and E grades for Introductory, Training and Encourager classes respectively, or alternatively, to be certified by a NCAS (National Coaching and Accreditation Scheme) instructor prior to competing."
The National Rules for Eventing will still apply for age requirements for Introductory & preliminary classes. To compete at Intro a rider must be turning 11. To compete at Prelim a rider must be turning 12.
Hope I have helped, Vicki
