its better to use a jumping whip cross country!! they give more of a whack when needed!!!!! if u r having trouble cross country are u under 18? or it might be 21 now. but i strongly suggest u come to mirrabooka summer school! it will fix all ur problems!! well it definately fixed mine!!!!!

i use my drssage whip on xc for exactly the same reason as briezy..... i think its great gets him right were i need it to and i dnt have to take my hand off the rains to hit his butttt thats y i like using them but id i can't i'll just used a standered whip no biggy just wanted to cheak

for what u get a mirrabooka its not expensive at all!! its so worth it!! getting lessons with all the top instructors everyday is worth all the money!!!

mirrabooka is in january...its seriously awesome alot of fun and also u learn so much. its a great way to start off the new season!!

i know you are not allowed to compete in the actual arena or on course with a dressage whip, but i used to work for a high level professional rider who had a very spooky horse and we used to warm it up for show-jumping with a dressage whip and then swap when she ewnt into the ring. can you do that vince? i pretty sure that would be ok, your allowed to warm up with a dressage whip before dressage, the horse won't realise u've dropped it (same deal for the SJ) they will think you've still got it if you had it in warm up

As I mentioned above, the rules concern themselves only with the length of the whip .. and not the flap on the end. But do not SJ, XC or even warmup with an overlenght whip ... that is illegal. Vince
